Primary Job Responsibilities:
The Rollins College Admission Team is seeking an Admission Counselor to join their team! Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admission, the Admission Counselor aids in all aspects of the admission process from initial recruitment of prospective students to the review and assessment of applications. In addition to conducting large and small group information sessions on the Rollins campus, the Admission Counselor will travel to meet with students, parents, and guidance counselors. Counselors also participate in the admission selection process and host on campus events for prospective and accepted students.

Participate in the selection of candidates for admission by reviewing and evaluating applications.
Develop professional relationships with prospective students and their families and high school counselors in assigned territories.
Communicate with prospective students, parents, and high school counselor by phone, email, and in-person and virtual meetings to guide them through the admission and enrollment process.
Travel to designated territories to recruit prospective students through in-person and virtual college fairs and high school visits with guidance counselors and students. Maintain accurate records on all recruitment and yield activities.
Conduct large and small group information sessions for prospective students and families.
Oversee and participate in special programs and projects.
Conduct interviews with admission candidates.
Develop recruitment strategies to target specific student populations.
Conduct guided campus tours when student tour guides are not available.
Establish and maintain effective positive and collegial working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications & Skillsets:
Bachelor's degree.
Knowledge of college admission processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.
High level proficiency in conversational, written, and oral presentation skills.
Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
Exceptional organizational and time/project management skills with the ability to prioritize, balance, and possess the aptitude for detail oriented tasks.
A positive, can-do attitude with a proactive approach to achieving goals and student-centric mindset.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills to represent the College in a positive way to diverse populations.
Must have the ability to work independently, as well as with team of colleagues, possessing strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
A commitment to diversity and an ability to work constructively with a variety of constituents.
Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain an Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable MVR are required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of college admission processes and admission experience.
Experience working in a higher education setting.
Knowledge of Rollins College and Winter Park/Orlando area.

Work Environment:
Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in an office environment.
Work requires visual strain and use of computer.
Ability to travel extensively by car or plane for recruitment is required. Heavy travel season is typically in the Fall traveling, up to 30% of time during the year, with flexibility to travel additionally when needed.
Evenings and weekends as appropriate and required (i.e.: evening recruitment events, weekend scholarship events, open house events for prospective and admitted students, etc.)
