Responsibilities

The Admissions Counselor engages in activities to recruit, admit, and enroll highly academically qualified students with primary focus on the undergraduate program and accountability for a particular geographic territory, under indirect supervision of the Assistant Director and Director of Admissions. The individual in this position is expected to implement recruitment activities at colleges, hospitals, and conferences, manage appointments with students and families, and implement campus events along with the nursing admissions team this includes virtual aspects of recruitment. Under the supervision and oversight of the Director and Assistant Director of Admissions, the Enrollment Counselor is responsible for data management processes (not limited to design, implementation, and ongoing management) associated with the admission CRM. The Admissions Counselor also supports the supervision of the traditional BSN student ambassadors and other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university is required. Candidates must have the ability to relate to a diverse student population and to attract students to apply and enroll in the nursing program. Must communicate with a high degree of confidence and effectiveness, both in verbal and written skills including email communication and demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect when communicating with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. Must model professional behavior and appropriate decorum for students enrolled in a professional program and maintain highly effective working relationships and appropriate boundaries with internal and external constituents. Must be creative and team focused to contribute to development and implementation of innovative strategies for enhanced recruitment. Must demonstrate knowledge about and appreciation for private traditional education to better promote GBCN and Mercer in a competitive market. Must have the ability to lift and transport recruitment materials and signage into buildings from parking decks or other locations that require walking and transporting loads up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

Candidate must possess valid driver's license and be insurable by the University carrier as this position requires some travel.
