Position Title: Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Department: Admissions Division: School of Law Vacancy Number: 21-229 Work Location: Macon, GA Job Type: Full-time Job Category: Staff Responsibilities:
The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid is responsible for all financial aid awarding to students in compliance with federal regulations and institutional guidelines, and provides a comprehensive financial literacy program and counseling to students to help minimize their debt as they seek to pay for the cost of their legal education. In this process, the Director is required to gather and analyze data to optimize scholarship distribution to meet student needs and support the law school's goals for net tuition revenue and the shaping of each entering class. The Director will also be required to recruit applicants, attend recruiting events, review admission applications, analyze application data, and make distinctions among competitive applicants. The Director will work closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing to create and evaluate various marketing initiatives for admissions. The person in this position will need the ability to think strategically and analytically, write well, communicate effectively, and travel on occasion. Finally, the Director must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other senior administrators, faculty, and staff throughout the university. Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is required along with three years of experience in admissions, counseling, advising, recruiting, or marketing OR one year of related experience with a JD. The successful candidate must have strong data analytic skills, writing and communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and comply with established deadlines. Use of good judgment, sensitivity, and discretion in handling confidential materials and situations is necessary.
