Summary:
The Regional Enrollment Director is responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of the undergraduate recruitment efforts in the primary markets of Columbus, Dayton, and Cincinnati, Ohio and the surrounding suburbs.This position works remotely from a home office, ideally in the Columbus or Cincinnati area.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with prospective undergraduate students throughout the enrollment process, focusing primarily on guiding applicants to the university through the admission review, scholarship, and financial aid processes up to attendance at new student orientation. Manage the recruitment efforts within the primary and secondary markets by reviewing the strategic recruitment goals of the enrollment management division, using historical data and information to determine a recruitment plan, and planning and executing local recruitment events to maximize outreach and resources to successfully achieve recruitment goals. Represent John Carroll University via a variety of events within the territory, which includes information sessions and accepted student programming for students and families; counselor programs; high school visits; college fairs; admissions panels; and other off-campus events such as meals and one-on-one sessions. Due to the volume of events, there will be extensive travel within the territory, which may include extended hours and evening and weekend work during peak times. Develop relationships with high school counselors, independent counselors, and community-based organizations within the territory, helping them to understand admissions policies and learn about opportunities for their students. Serve as the primary admissions contact for students and counselors within the territory, which includes handling a large volume of email and phone inquiries. Develop and maintain expertise about admissions policies, as well as the variety of academic offerings at John Carroll University in order to counsel students and families on their options. Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, model inclusive behaviors, and value diversity in the working and learning environment. Assess applications and make recommendations for admission. Manage merit scholarship review and financial aid awarding for students in recruitment territory, including counseling and communications of revisions of applicant awards due to revised FAFSA, completed verifications, and additional aid. Travel to John Carroll Universitys campus regularly for training, updates, special events, and for other occasions in support of the Undergraduate Admissions Office. Participate virtually in activities for the Office of Admission, which may include campus-based training opportunities, meetings, and committees, as well as performing special projects or assignments as required by the recruitment team or the office. Operate out of a home office that allows for the required travel in the established territory, as well as the ability to work autonomously, and independently manage a personal recruitment schedule. Connect with local alumni to expand John Carroll Universitys outreach efforts through involvement with the Alumni Ambassadors Program. This may involve recruiting volunteers to assist with recruitment efforts, training alumni on admissions information to effectively volunteer at local events, and nurturing these relationships to increase interest in and effectiveness of the program.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a related field. Demonstrated ability to thrive in an independent and self-directed role in a competitive recruiting environment. Five years of previous enrollment management experience in a college or university admission office. Ability to effectively represent the mission and vision of the University to the larger community. Interest in understanding and supporting John Carrolls mission to inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world. Demonstrate excellent verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills and maintain high professional standards and exemplary customer service. Ability to travel as needed (costs reimbursed in accordance with budget policies). Ability to work occasional and assigned evening and weekend hours in order to support University enrollment events. An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external constituents. Ability to make data-informed decisions to affect enrollment outcomes. Strong organizational and project management skills. Be able to operate a motor vehicle, have a valid drivers license, and successfully complete a motor vehicle records check and standard background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in a related field. Experience working in undergraduate admissions in southern Ohio, especially Columbus or Cincinnati. Experience with Slate, Banner, and Microsoft Office 365 suite. Bilingual and able to read, write and speak proficiently in Spanish, Polish, Arabic, Mandarin, Hindi, or other regionally applicable languages.

Normal Working Hours and Conditions:
Generally 37.5 hours per week as assigned. This position may require work be performed outside of normal business hours.

Physical Requirements :
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other office locations and to verbally communicate to exchange information .
