This role offers an experienced enrollment leader the opportunity to mentor the next generation of enrollment professionals and inspire a new era of growth and sustainability in the Marietta community.

The Vice President for Enrollment Management is responsible for all aspects of recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and enrollment planning. The ideal candidate will incorporate best practices into the College's processes for recruitment, admission, and financial aid for both undergraduate and graduate programs. Goals include increasing undergraduate and graduate enrollment, meeting net tuition revenue objectives, and increasing the quality and diversity of the applicant and matriculant pools. The successful candidate will craft and implement a highly inclusive and effective institutional enrollment plan, while working collaboratively with colleagues across the College on student persistence initiatives.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  1. Oversee all aspects of the enrollment management function. Develop a coordinated strategic plan with colleagues across the College to recruit, retain, and graduate a diverse student body. This plan should align with the values, vision, mission, and strategic goals of the College.

  2. Establish and support the strategic direction, priorities and goals for the of the College and the enrollment management unit including making data-informed proposals and decisions, linking operational budgets and expenditures to measurable outcomes/productivity, and employing both traditional and contemporary tactics to achieve enrollment goals.

  3. Collaborate with Communications and Marketing staff to develop a heightened awareness of Marietta College among prospective students through the optimal use of social and traditional media and expanded recruiting efforts into new or underrepresented regions.

  4. Support efforts to enable effective institutional-level financial planning based on enrollment goals.

  5. Ensure the delivery of quality, student-oriented and regulation compliant financial aid by developing and implementing efficient, effective, and integrated policies, procedures and systems that support student progress toward the degree.

  6. Maintain and enhance a strong strategic and collaborative relationship with divisions across the College including academic affairs and athletics.

  7. Continue to increase academic quality in the incoming classes; grow enrollment in specific undergraduate programs; grow geographic diversity; grow socio-economic and racial/ethnic diversity and manage the tuition discount rate to assure that the College meets its net tuition revenue goals.

  8. Provide direction to and work productively with an outside partner as needed to model policy driven options on the use of financial aid in the recruitment process and ensure that the determination of an optimal model is incorporated into the proposed annual budget.

  9. Coordinate with Academic Resource Center to create partnerships that result in improved student access and success.

  10. Coordinate with the Vice President of Student Life to promote diversity and inclusiveness and support existing College programs designed to create a welcoming environment for everyone by expanding our recruiting efforts into new or underrepresented regions outside of our local area.

  11. Provide leadership, oversight, and professional development to the admissions staff to enhance institutional effectiveness, including the use of assessment results and linking results to planning.

  12. Ensure monitoring systems are in place to track compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations. Ensure all staff within applicable departments are properly trained and prepared to comply with relevant laws and regulations. Identify necessary training and provide/provide for ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

  13. Work closely with the President and members of the President's Cabinet to administer the College, including the establishment of policies, procedures, and practices. Work with the President, Cabinet and Planning Committee to assess current programs and functions and to plan future programs and functions.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  1. Demonstrated successful experience in developing, evaluating, and improving recruitment and aid programs that serve the College's strategic objectives and meet budget goals.

  2. Proven success in planning and implementing a comprehensive enrollment management plan.

  3. Ability to engage staff in building on past successes while fostering change.

  4. Knowledge of best practice and contemporary trends in recruitment, retention, and financial aid.

  5. A commitment to and appreciation of a residential liberal arts education and the ability to articulate its value.

  6. Knowledge of NCAA Division III regulations, the recruitment of student athletes and the ability to work effectively with coaching staff.

  7. A collaborative spirit coupled with a strong work ethic and a desire to be a visible and active member of the campus community.

Required Experience & Education:

  1. Proven leadership and supervisory experience with a track record of success demonstrating the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role.

Preferred Experience & Education:

  1. A Master's degree in higher education administration or related field is preferred.
