Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM; this is a temporary position to end on or before June 30, 2022 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.

About the Position:
The College of Health and Human Development is provides exemplary education, research, and community outreach related to human health, development, and lifelong well-being. Within the College of Health and Human Development, the School of Nursing is committed to educate and transform nurses to practice in dynamic healthcare environments with diverse populations. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as an Enrolment Advisor (Student Services Professional II-Range A). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Provides support to the undergraduate program and advisors in the Nursing Advising Center. Manages nursing application and admission process for the RN-BSN program. Coordinates Jump Start program recruiting and application process with local community colleges. Responds to prospective student inquiries for undergraduate programs in person, virtually, via email and phone. Manages recruitment/event schedule to ensure the School of Nursing is represented at all key partner institutions. Attends recruiting events at community colleges and partner hospital facilities; creates and gives presentations to groups of prospective students as well as partner community college administrators. Processes supplemental nursing applications (reviews complete application and transcripts for prerequisite completion). Maintains regular communication with applicants throughout the admission process. Partners with university admissions to ensure qualified applications are evaluated correctly and admitted in a timely manner. Serves as a resource for prospective students and applicants to connect them with other departments on campus as needed. Maintains and updates prospective student portions of the School of Nursing website and recruitment materials with accurate information. Works with School of Nursing Advisors as needed on highly complex issues as they arise. Assists in assessment of various program aspects including advising efforts and admission requirements. Maintains current knowledge of all academic programs within the School of Nursing. Assists in supporting all efforts within Nursing Advising. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field. A masters degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational management, research, and interview techniques. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews, and advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Ability to reason logically and use initiative in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements. Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities. Ability to interact with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and of the overall organization.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in job related field. Experience working in a School of Nursing. Experience working with first-time freshman and transfer students. Knowledge of nursing education and the nursing field. Experience evaluating academic transcripts and related admission documents. Knowledge of CSU admission policies, procedures, and related campus departments.
