Position Focus:
The Office of Enrollment Management is an integral part of Yale School of Nursing. The Office oversees the recruitment, admissions operations, and yield activities for students interested in graduate degree programs here at YSN. The Office reports to the Executive Deputy Dean's Office and works closely with Offices of Diversity and Inclusion, Alumni Relations and Communications. The Office of Enrollment Management is seeking an Admissions Officer (AO). The AO reports to the Director of Enrollment and works very closely with the Associate Director of Financial Aid. In all work, supports YSN diversity and inclusion values and commitments.

Alongside the Director, Associate Director, and other members of the enrollment management office, plan and manage the overall recruitment efforts, including on-campus, off-campus and virtual events to align with the strategic priorities of the School and the Office, as well as with the needs/interests of prospective students.

Implement innovative marketing and recruiting strategies to attract a diverse (e.g., racial, ethnic, socioeconomic status, first generation identity, sexual orientation) applicant pool/incoming student cohort.

Plan, coordinate and attend internal and external recruitment events such as open houses, information sessions and graduate fairs for prospective students to provide information regarding all programs.

Give public presentations in order to promote Yale School of Nursing to prospective applicants; advise applicants on the application process; coordinate recruiting activities in assigned geographical area; serve as a liaison with organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process; counsel prospective students regarding degree offerings and report to Director/Associate Director on recruitment efforts.

Execute phone calls and email outreach to identified groups and organizations.

As a member of the Admissions team, contribute at all levels as needed including handling special projects and event planning (i.e. admitted student days).

Maintain a positive, professional and businesslike manner to clients, students, and other personnel.

Maintains on-campus communication assets such as display cases and brochure holders or similar.

Ensure that all materials are correctly prepared for the Committee on Admissions (in a timely fashion).

Act as liaison with the Offices of Admissions, Registrar, Student Affairs, Student Health, Bursar, Financial Aid, and Communications.

In collaboration with the Director and Associate Director create and maintain Slate campaigns, blasts, events, and similar.

Collaborate on data imports and exports from Slate to Banner and vice versa while ensuring data quality and integrity.

Other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties
1. Evaluates all admissions applications, interviews prospective applicants, and independently assesses each application against a variety of factors, including the applicant's strength, weaknesses and potential contribution to the Yale community. Determines applicant's standing within local, national and international applicant pools. 2. Presents applicant recommendations to admissions committee. Briefs admissions committee about applicants and about schools and geographical regions as they relate to evaluation of applicant files. Determines which applicants will be waitlisted 3. Develops public presentations designed to promote Yale to prospective applicants. 4. Advises secondary school counselors, applicants and parents on the application process. 5. Coordinates alumni recruiting activities in assigned geographical areas. 6. Serves as a liaison with organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process. 7. May perform other duties assigned.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent analytical skills, and creative self-direction. Exceptional administrative, planning, organizational and project management skills. Proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Demonstrated excellence in public presentation. Superior writing, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with students, faculty, alumni, fellow admissions office staff and other YSN staff members.

Required Skill/Ability 4:
Well-developed computer skills and demonstrated ability to adapt to new software programs. Data driven.

Required Skill/Ability 5:
Knowledge of the application process at a highly selective college or university. Ability to form relationships with prospective students and counsel applicants through the admissions process.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Experience of holistic and contextual application review at a college or university graduate admissions office and in the area of marketing, recruitment, and event planning. Preference for a degree in a STEM or related field. Clear understanding and ability to communicate the values and mission of YSN. Experience working in an admission office as a student employee or staff member.

Preferred Licenses or Certifications:
Strong preference for a driver with a valid driver's license.
