Champlain College located in Burlington, Vermont, is a vibrant, residential community of 2,000 undergraduates. The College seeks a dynamic, innovative, and collaborative leader with a demonstrated record of achievement in student recruitment to lead our office of undergraduate admissions. The Director of Admissions, as an integral member of the enrollment leadership team, will report to, and work closely with, the Vice President of Enrollment Strategy & Marketing to develop and implement data-driven recruitment strategies and initiatives that support the College's enrollment goals.

The Director of Admissions will lead a team of admissions counselors in recruiting and enrolling undergraduate and transfer students. They will partner, collaborate, and develop strong relationships with departments across our college and with groups outside the college including college counselors, alumni, and parents. The Director is required to have working knowledge of current best practices in student recruitment as well as a desire to develop and implement new strategies based on institutional data and industry trends. They will be expected to maintain a current understanding of the applicable policies and regulations affecting the College's admissions process and will participate in professional organizations and professional development activities in order to be aware of and adapt to rapid changes in enrollment and recruitment.

Responsibilities include:
  • Effective communication with prospective students and families
  • Managing, motivating, inspiring, and leading staff to achieve enrollment goals of first-time and transfer students
  • Train, mentor, and support the professional development of staff
  • Participate in enrollment planning
  • Utilize appropriate technologies
  • Build strong relationships to ensure cooperation and collaboration with academic and administrative departments

The ideal candidate will actively participate in admissions travel, demonstrate a commitment to diversity with an ability to interact professionally with a broad range of constituents, and possess excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and leadership skills.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required (master's degree preferred)
  • Three or more years of senior-level experience in collegiate admissions with a proven enrollment track record and substantial experience working with high school and college students
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM
